Barely A Dog Rescue is an Ontario-based non-profit founded in 2025 by Vanessa De Prophetis, known to many online as Girl With The Dogs. Inspired by years of working closely with pets and their families, Vanessa witnessed firsthand the challenges many pet owners face when essential veterinary and grooming care becomes financially out of reach.
Today, Barely A Dog Rescue provides financial assistance for critical pet care while also rescuing small dogs, placing them in foster homes, and preparing them for loving adoptions. The organization's mission is simple: to ensure that no pet suffers because help feels out of reach and to bridge the gap between love and affordability for families across Ontario
