Deep Roots, Strong Support: Our Commitment to Giving Back to Our Community

Bradford Greenhouses continues to embrace a caring and inclusive culture in the communities we serve, also providing a source of pride for our employees. In 2018 we created a new charitable foundation named “Roots For Youth”, the centerpiece of our fundraising efforts. This charity continues the decades of fundraising efforts we enjoyed on behalf of the Children’s Wish Foundation, for whom we raised over $300,000. With Roots For Youth, the company has instituted a foundation with a mandate to help support children of families who have suffered an extreme loss. The first recipients of the charity were two teenage girls of a long-tenured employee who passed away and we contributed $24,000 towards their post-secondary education. Last Fall, we raised over $55,000 in our annual charity golf tournament, and funded the tuition for six exceptional students for the 2023-2024 school year. These students, all from Simcoe County—including three from Barrie—benefit from our mission to assist those facing significant challenges.

In addition to our support for individual students, we are currently contributing to 40 community groups and charities in our area. We support area Food Banks, Run for the Cure, and local hospices. We have also hosted an annual ski swap to support the local skiing industry in Barrie, and an annual emergency services gala night to raise funds for Easter Seals. Bradford Greenhouses continues to proudly sponsor numerous local sports teams, act as a proud corporate partner of local sports venues, and help fund the construction of the local Leisure Centre facility.

Roots For Youth has been selected for 2026 Beacon® Shine The Light Program
